Weeefiner has partnered with Ecoline Group to introduce its state-of-the-art dissolved-metal recovery solutions to Türkiye’s mining and metals industry. This collaboration marks an important step toward improving both material efficiency and environmental performance in one of the region’s most dynamic and rapidly developing industrial sectors.
By enabling the recovery of valuable metals from complex industrial water streams, the partnership aims to turn previously unutilized process flows into new sources of raw materials—supporting more sustainable and resource-efficient operations across the industry.
“Türkiye’s mining sector has significant potential for more efficient and sustainable resource use. We see strong opportunities especially in recovering copper from process water, turning unutilized streams into valuable copper resources,” says Mikko Hänninen, CEO of Weeefiner.
Building local impact through collaboration
As part of the collaboration, Ecoline Group will work closely with mining and metals stakeholders across Türkiye to better understand local operational conditions and challenges. The joint effort will focus on:
- Mapping key process and water management challenges
- Identifying priority needs for improved efficiency and sustainability
- Exploring opportunities where dissolved-metal recovery can deliver the highest value
- Initiating pilot projects to validate the technology under local process conditions
This hands-on approach ensures that solutions are not only technologically advanced but also practically applicable and tailored to the needs of Turkish operations.
Sevki Durmus, General Manager of Ecoline Group, states:
“This collaboration will bring real innovation to the Turkish mining sector. With Weeefiner’s technology, we are also providing a powerful solution for the recovery of dissolved valuable metals from process waters.”
A state-of-the-art solution for dissolved metal recovery
At the core of this partnership is Weeefiner’s proprietary 4D Scavenger® solution. Designed for demanding industrial environments, the solution enables highly selective recovery of dissolved metals from complex water streams.
The system produces high-quality metal concentrate while simultaneously delivering purified water suitable for reuse or discharge. This significantly improves process sustainability and supports circular material use by minimizing waste and maximizing resource recovery.
Depending on the application and stream characteristics, the return on investment for metal recovery projects can be as low as 2–3 years. Based on previous pilots and project experience, individual operation sites could recover up to thousands of tons of additional copper annually from streams that would otherwise remain unutilized, highlighting both the economic and environmental value of the solution.
