Weeefiner was honored with the New Business Award at the International Water Association (IWA) Resource Recovery Conference. The award highlights the significant potential of resource recovery within the water cycle.
Weeefiner was selected from 19 participants as one of six finalists who had the opportunity to present their work during the conference and pitch to the audience and jury. Weeefiner participated with its 4D Scavenger® technology, which can be used to recover metals from wastewater. Ultimately, Weeefiner was awarded the title of Most Promising New Business for Resource Recovery.
Aiming to find solutions for resource recovery
The goal of the Resource Recovery conference is to identify innovative companies and startups working in resource recovery within the water cycle and to bring together academic and industrial leaders. The award was part of the agenda to demonstrate solutions within this category and to find solutions with potential to create new business opportunities.
Weeefiner’s CEO Mikko Hänninen highlighted a significant challenge in his keynote speech: 90% of dissolved metals in industrial wastewater are lost, amounting to an annual value loss of approximately 7 billion dollars. This presents a huge business opportunity for efficient resource recovery. With our 4D Scavenger® solutions we can tap into this opportunity.
An excellent opportunity to network with industry leaders
“During the event, we had valuable discussions with leaders from both industry and academia. These discussions will lead to collaborations that bridge research and industrial applications. Thanks to the organizers and participants for a great event and meaningful conversations,” Hänninen commented.
“Winning this award will accelerate our growth by providing marketing support and access to a matchmaking platform operated through the networks of SKion Water GmbH and Water Alliance.”
Thank you jury for acknowledging Weeefiner’s potential in resource recovery!
